Community Attractions
Campbell County boasts a host of attractions for anyone considering a move to the area.
Families can enjoy about 40 parks throughout the community, which include some well-trod bike paths and even a fishing lake. The Rec Center includes a replica Devils Tower for avid and beginning climbers, while the Energy Capital Sports Complex caters its full-size synthetic turf fields to sports like football, soccer and rugby.
Located about an hour from Devils Tower, two hours from Mount Rushmore and four hours from Yellowstone National Park, Campbell County residents have ample opportunity to enjoy national landmarks with family and friends.
Energy Capital Sports Complex
The sports complex, endearingly called the "Field of Dreams," is a state-of-the-art facility with something for everyone.
The complex includes:
- Little league fields
- Fastpitch softball fields
- Three full-size turf fields
- Batting cages
- Nearly 2.5-mile trail loop around the complex
Campbell County Rec Center
The Campbell County Recreation Center has 189,000 square feet of space and is open seven days/week.
The building includes:
- 42-foot tall climbing wall
- Six-lane lap pool, lazy river & water slides
- Pickleball & racquetball courts
- Indoor track
- Basketball courts
Cam-plex
The multi-event complex includes a number of facilities, hosting rodeos, musicians/artists and nationwide events.
The complex includes:
- Fine arts theater
- Outdoor race track
- Rodeo grounds
- Campgrounds
- More than 20-acre park and picnic area
- Convention/exhibit hall
Splash Pad
The splash pad is located at the Energy Capital Sports Complex.
- Complete with grippy surfaces, movable spray and water cannons and ground jets, the area offers families a free space to take their kids during those hot summer days.
- Right next to the splash pad, families can also enjoy an Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant playground complete with a zipline, jungle gym, monkey bars and swings for all to enjoy.
Gillette College
Gillette College is a two-year community college located along Donkey Creek. The college offers more than 30 programs, ranging from diesel and welding to criminal justice and nursing.
More of its offerings include:
- Low-cost tuition
- Basketball, soccer, rodeo and volleyball teams, along with the state-of-the-art Pronghorn Center
- The technical education center, complete with a virtual reality lab
- Simulation manikins for nursing program students
Area 59
A local favorite, Gillette College Area 59 is our residents' go-to facility for innovative ideas. The facility partners with the school district for STEM-filled learning, while also acting as a meeting place for locals bringing their ideas to life.
The facility includes:

- 3D scanner
- STEM camps for kids
- Community-based workshops
